Renowned pastry chef Nathaniel Reid, the chef/owner of Nathaniel
Reid Bakery, has been appointed vice president of the
Coupe du Monde Team USA Executive Board. This prestigious
role places Chef Reid in a leadership position as the team prepares
for the upcoming 2027 Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie
in Lyon, France.
Reid, who has been recognized as U.S. Pastry Chef of the Year,
is renowned for his exceptional skill, innovation, and the artistry
displayed at his bakery, which has become a beloved destination
for pastry enthusiasts.
" I'm thrilled and honored to step into the role of Vice President
for Team USA at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie. It's
a unique opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest
and most talented minds in the pastry world. Together, we aim
to showcase American innovation, creativity, and passion on a

As vice president of the executive board, Reid will collaborate
with some of the industry's most esteemed professionals,
including world champions and top pastry chefs, to guide Team
USA toward excellence on the global stage.

The new executive board, led by President Chef Stéphane
Chéramy, marks a significant milestone for Team USA as it gears

the next generation of pastry chefs and ensure a strong presence
in the international culinary arena.

Club Coupe du Monde Team USA is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting excellence,
creativity, and innovation in the pastry arts. The organization
supports America's top pastry chefs as they compete in the
Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, the world's most prestigious
pastry competition.
Creative influences
The Overland Park Convention Center is pleased to announce
the appointment of David Ruiz as the venue's new executive
chef. Chef Ruiz, a James Beard Foundation competition winner
and the International Fresh Produce Association's Chef of the
Year, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh, innovative approach
to the dining experience at the convention center.
He joins the Overland Park Convention Center with an impressive
culinary background. Ruiz has honed his skills in award-winning
restaurants in Aspen, San Jose, Yosemite, and Albuquerque,
drawing inspiration from mentors like Chef Scott Baumann
of the Bay Area and Boris Revilla of Albuquerque at the intersection
of culture, creativity, and consistency.
" I am excited to bring my culinary expertise to the Overland
Park Convention Center and create exceptional dining experiences
for our guests by taking ordinary food and making it extraordinary, "
Ruiz says.
His dessert menu includes strawberry shortcake Napoleon -
layered white cake with fresh gelled strawberry puree topped
white chocolate mousse dollops & fresh strawberries garnished
with strawberry crispies.
