Biscuits
Scratch-made biscuits are another category that is on the rise,

Recently, four local Hardee's bakers showcased their master-level
skills as they beat out the competition in the semi-finals of the
national Hardee's Biscuit Baker Competition.
Four finalists will move on to compete in the national Biscuit
Baker Competition in Franklin, Tenn., headquarters of CKE Restaurants,
which is the parent company of Hardee's and Carl's Jr.
® The four finalists will compete for a chance to win the title of
2024 Biscuit Baker Competition Champion and a $10,000 prize.
The following bakers will compete in the national competition:

" Biscuit bakers are a meaningful part of the communities
where they work and the biscuits, that they rise at 4:00 a.m.
to bake every morning, are how many people start their day, "
said Chris Bode, president of Hardee's. " The semifinals of the
national Biscuit Baker Competition demonstrate the expertise
and knowledge of the biscuit bakers. They are evaluated and
judged based on several criteria, including visual appearance,
color, texture and taste of their biscuits. The four finalists should
be extremely proud of their accomplishment. "
The American Bakers Association (ABA) announces
significant milestones promising higher level impact for
upcoming industry events, including its annual convention,
NextGenBaker Leadership Forum, NEXUS, and
Front Line Leadership Program.
As part of its new strategic plan and recently announced
reorganization, ABA has reinvigorated its
events and programming division to create a more
impactful member experience. Registration and program
details for the 2025 Annual Convention were launched
months ahead of previous years, offering industry executives
unprecedented early access to the robust convention
schedule and resulting in more than 100 industry
leaders registering for the premiere annual event.
" ABA continues to elevate the executive level content
we produce for the industry, " says Samantha Moore,
ABA's senior director of events and programming. " The
convention is the capstone of that programming, and
we're thrilled to already have more than 60 companies
registered. "
The convention joins an engaging and comprehensive
schedule of ABA events in the coming months. The
NextGenBaker Leadership Forum draws the industry's
rising stars to Washington, DC, Sept. 30 through Oct.
1. The event is set to have its highest attendance in
years, with the reimagined agenda including leadership
lessons from a former U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer,
interactive team-building exercises, and enhanced
networking with peers and senior industry leaders.

program to develop the next generation of industry leaders
and position commercial baking as the destination
workplace, " says Pippa O'Shea, senior manager of events
and programming. " Members value the on-the-ground
experience in our nation's capital and the opportunity to
forge long-lasting relationships. "
During the same week as NextGenBaker, ABA is partnering
with BEMA to bring the second year of NEXUS
to Washington, DC. The primary pillars of NEXUS focus
on connecting bakers and suppliers, educating attendees
and creating opportunities for industry conversations.
