Crafting Cocoa Powders
Bensdorp, a Barry Callebaut brand, features a new way for customers
to achieve a superior and interesting taste experience. Bensdorp
Natural Dark is a flavorful, 100% natural cocoa powder with a superior taste obtained without being processed with alkali.
Bensdorp Natural Dark is health-focused and flavorful. In a
consumer taste test, the new natural dark cocoa powder was
approved by consumers all over the world.
The new product enables food manufacturers to deliver a rich
and chocolaty flavor in all major applications while offering a
clean label. Bensdorp Natural Dark's alkali-free processing gives
it the rich flavor and the deep dark color consumers prefer while
remaining completely natural. It comes at a time when health-focused consumers are increasingly seeking out premium products
with taste and a recognizable ingredients list.
Natural Dark has a much wider range of applications than other
natural cocoa powders due to its rich, chocolaty flavor and premium
dark brown color. The taste palate is a mix of roasted cocoa, spices,
and a hint of dried fruits giving way to warm notes that blend well
with toasted aromas, such as coffee or pecan nuts.

and see firsthand the impact of financial
investments in key initiatives that meet the
needs of the cocoa farming communities on
the ground, such as providing sustainable
agriculture coaching for farmers, entrepreneurship trainings for women and nutritional
programs for families.
Cargill takes a technology-driven,
evidence-based approach to fostering
sustainability and transparency across the
cocoa sector. Its digital portal, CocoaWise,
and data platform, CocoaWise 360, are
the next steps in this journey to source,
manufacture, and market sustainable cocoa.
