La Norteña también produce
pasteles de alta calidad para todas
las ocasiones, incluyendo las bodas,
los cumpleaños y los baby showers.
Agregaron la capacidad de imprimir
imágenes fotográficas en hojas de
tinta comestibles para poner cualquier
imagen que un cliente quiera
en su pastel especial. "Producimos
pasteles tres leches de chocolate
y moca, pasteles milhojas y más.
Podemos hacer casi cualquier pastel
que un cliente quiera," dice Padilla.
"Tres leches es nuestro pastel de
mayor venta. Dentro de la comunidad
hispana, es el pastel que
más compran. Añadimos cualquier
tipo de relleno - fresa, melocotón,
mango, coco. También vendemos
rebanadas de pastel."
Ofrecer rebanadas de pastel al
igual que pasteles enteros ayuda a
la panadería a atraer a los clientes
que compran pasteles para sus
familias y a aquellos que simplemente
buscan un pequeño postre
para llevar.
"Estamos muy bien posicionados.
Es fácil sobrevivir 15 años
en el negocio," dice Padilla. "Por
suerte, tenemos una clientela muy
estable. Nuestros pasteles son tan
bueno, y eso es excelente publicidad
de boca-a-boca. Nuestro
panadero principal tiene una mente
muy creativa. Sus pasteles tienen
una apariencia muy agradable y
excelente sabor."
En cuanto a los panes, La Norteña
produce artículos distintivos como
el pan guatemalteco, que hacen con
crema agria y queso con una receta
que se originó en Guatemala.
También producen pastel de
queso crema y pan de maíz, que
elaboran con maíz natural molido
fresco en la tienda. "Compramos
nuestro propio maíz y lo cortamos
nosotros mismos, y lo molimos todos
los días," dice. "Esto le da un sabor
increíble a nuestro pan de maíz. Se
pueden degustar los pedacitos de
maíz. También hacemos nuestros
propios tamales de maíz."
