TENDENCIAS DEL CONSUMIDOR
Lo que los hispanos
sienten sobre el gasto
Los hispanos están sintiendo
más optimismo por las mejoras en
la economía de Estados Unidos, lo
que indica señales positivas para el
gasto en alimentos entre los hispanos
este año.
Para las panaderías, esto representa
una gran oportunidad para
aprovechar este mayor optimismo
con promociones innovadoras y
nuevos productos.
Es importante mantenerse al tanto
con las tendencias para saber cómo,
cuándo y dónde enfocar sus actividades
de promoción y merchandising.
Según ThinkNow Research, se
les preguntó a los participantes de
una encuesta en qué dirección iba
la economía estadounidense para el
2015, y el 46% de los hispanos dijeron
que pensaban que sería mejor.
Curiosamente, dentro de la
población hispana, la respuesta fue
inspirada en gran medida por el nivel
de aculturación, con un 50% de los
hispanos de baja y mediana aculturación
diciendo que "la economía va
a ser mejor", pero sólo un 35% del
grupo de alta aculturación diciendo
lo mismo.
Además, el optimismo está creciendo,
subió del 37% el año pasado a
46% este año.
Los hispanos también están
impulsando el crecimiento de las
pequeñas empresas.
Se esperaba que el número de
empresas hispanas en los EE.UU. iba
a crecer de 2.7 millones en 2007 a un
esperado 3.2 millones en 2013, según
un informe publicado por la Cámara
de Comercio de EE.UU. y Geoscape,
una compañía de inteligencia empresarial.
El incremento promedio anual
del número de empresas hispanas fue
de 6.7%, comparado al crecimiento
de 3.1% para todos los negocios en
ese mismo período de tiempo, señala
el informe.
LO QUE COMPRAN
Mintel afirma en el nuevo
informe, Today's Specialty Food
Consumer de 2014, que los 145
millones de personas que dicen que
han comprado alimentos especiales
este año representan verdaderamente
un avance del 8% en 2013 - a pesar
de que esta nueva porción de 59%
de los consumidores estadounidenses
parece a primera vista ser más baja
que el 74% del año pasado.
Los compradores más probables
de alimentos especiales siguen siendo
los Milenios (70% de las personas
entre 18 y 34 años de edad), afluentes
(el 70% de los hogares con
ingresos de $75,000 o más por año)
e hispanos (71%).
